This calculator has been developed to assist the medical Legal team make a risk assessment and treatment plan following a whiplash injury to the neck. The calculations are based on peer reviewed literature using odds ratios and confidence limits, but the calculator has not been validated alone in a clinical setting and therefore cannot be used in an evidence based approach to claim long term sequelae following a whiplash injury and should be used to indicate risk only.

The Whiplash Calculator has been developed to help identify those patients who may be at more risk of persistent problems after whiplash injury - typically at 12 months post injury. Research data puts this figure anywhere between 12% - 84%.
I hope to develop a Low Back Pain Prognosis calculator soon.
